Announcing Bakehouse's 2026–2027 Board Officers
Bakehouse Art Complex is pleased to announce its Board officers for 2026–2027: Jason Korman, Chairman; Maurice Habif, First Vice Chair; Ophira Cukierman, Second Vice Chair; Poorya Mianjy, Vice Chair at Large; Lia Yaffar, Treasurer; and Claudio Riedi, Secretary.
As Bakehouse enters one of the most consequential periods in its forty-year history, this leadership team brings the judgment, discipline, networks, and commitment required to guide a complex organization through an equally complex undertaking. The Board’s work now extends beyond stewardship of an active arts campus and its community of artists. It includes helping lead a comprehensive campaign to preserve and renovate the historic Bakehouse, expand cultural facilities, and create affordable live-work housing for artists in Wynwood Norte.
Under Bakehouse’s bylaws, the officers provide the structure through which the Board carries out its fiduciary responsibilities, maintains sound financial oversight, supports governance and committee work, and advances the organization’s long-range strategy. That structure is especially important as Bakehouse coordinates multiple phases of development, public and private funding, real-estate and financing decisions, and the organizational capacity needed to deliver the vision while continuing to serve artists every day.
Chairman Jason Korman will lead the Board in strengthening Bakehouse’s shared purpose and public voice at a moment when cultural space and affordability are increasingly urgent in Miami. First Vice Chair Maurice Habif brings valuable strategic and financial perspective to the work ahead, including the careful planning required to align project scope, capital needs, and campaign strategy. Second Vice Chair Ophira Cukierman brings deep commitment to artists, community, and the relationships that will be essential to building broad support for Bakehouse’s future. As Vice Chair at Large, Poorya Mianjy will bring an entrepreneurial and future-focused perspective to Bakehouse’s long-range planning, helping connect the organization’s ambitious physical transformation with the partnerships, ideas, and investment needed to realize it.
Treasurer Lia Yaffar will help ensure the rigor and transparency necessary to manage an ambitious capital and operating agenda. Secretary Claudio Riedi will support the strong governance, continuity, and accountability that allow the Board to work effectively through a period of significant growth.
Together, these officers will help Bakehouse move from vision to execution: securing the resources, partnerships, and leadership capacity necessary to protect what artists have built here and to make room for the generations still to come.
