Jose Pachecho Silva studied at Pratt Institute in New York City and the State University of New York College at Buffalo. Born in Colombia, he has lived in the United States since 1972. He has exhibited in Miami, and Chicago. He recently completed a commmission for the new Fountainbleu Hotel in Miami Beach and received an Honorable Mention for an exhibition sponsored by ArtCite 2005. His most current series of work consists of monochromatic paintings on paper board. By using dark tones against the earthy color of the paper, he creates a feeling of solitude and decay, and feeling of night falling into darkness.
