Variations on the Potter's Wheel Workshop

70.00

April 28, 10AM-1PM

This workshop will consist of both demonstration, as well as, hands on participation by attendees. I will demonstrate a variety of thrown and altered pottery techniques as well as the basic cylinders, bowls and plates. The class will focus on functional pottery beginning with a very short presentation on the history of studio pottery in the United States and the influence of the Japanese mingei movement.

Students will spend time trying out the potter’s wheel getting down and dirty with clay. I will help students individually as they experience this amazing material. Students at all levels of experience are welcome.  Attendees will walk away with some background history, practical information and some hands-on experience and hopefully a desire to learn more!
