65.00

April 28, 2-5PM

A one-time workshop designed to introduce basic techniques of forming vessel forms on the potter’s wheel and beyond. The main goal of this workshop is to introduce students to the abundance of ways clay could be shaped into timeless vessel forms humans have been using for centuries i.e. bowls, tumblers, mugs. Extensive demonstrations of throwing these forms on the potter's wheel will be held along with pinching, coiling and decorating work with slips. Students will choose the forming technique and create the forms they enjoy. Completed forms will be fired for students to keep. No previous experience of working with clay is necessary. Students will walk away with the renewed appreciation for the beauty of handmade vessels.
