In 1981 Tom Lawson wrote Last Exit: Painting, an essay putting painters on the defensive, directly holding each artist accountable for using paint as a medium. On the brink of that essay’s 35th anniversary the BAC is hosting a show based on the same principle. In those 35 years painting has changed a good deal and here is an opportunity to prove painting’s eternal potential. The show will kick off BAC’s 30th season, opening September 11th and will be on view through October 10th.

Robert “Meatball” Lorie is a man of stature, strong stature. Recently starring in the Sundance Film Fest premiered film “The Strongest Man” Lorie is now ready to flex his art muscle with a sight specific installation. What About Bob relies heavily on Lorie’s size and existence while also pulling inspiration from other historical “Bobs” such as Robert Morris, Robert Smithson and Bill Murray.
