Opening Night - Thurs, July 23.
6PM - 8PM
Since the late 1990’s I have been recording and collecting sounds using whatever I had available; beginning with cassette recorders, fourtracks, then to mini discs and currently my iPhone. You can call these field recordings but I find it is actually more like a sound diary. The sound recordings are things I come across in my day to day life that portray my upbringing in Miami, my Mexican heritage and the creative process of making music. You will hear things like squawking peacocks on a walk home, friends improvising, family members telling a story, the beginnings of a song, a weekly band rehearsal, and notes to myself.
