Bakehouse Juried Studio Residency Program
The Bakehouse Art Complex Studio Residency program is a jury-selected artist residency program offering affordable studios to professional emerging and mid‐career artists. The Bakehouse Art Complex is currently seeking artists who are committed to their work and interested in being part of dynamic, collaborative and creative community of over 60 working professional artists.
Bakehouse studio applications are evaluated every other month. A select committee of three established art professional jurors will review the applications and work samples. If approved by the jury, artists will be notified for a formal interview by Bakehouse administrative staff. Primary criteria for selection for the residency program are conceptual innovation and technical proficiency. Decisions are final and indisputable. Applicants who are not accepted can reapply after a 12-‐month period. Studio residencies last for up to 4 years, and artists are subject to re-‐evaluation based on administrative and artistic reviews. Resident Artists are also required to donate an artwork of their choosing for the Bakehouse’s annual art raffle fundraiser Lucky You!, which takes place every November.

Bakehouse Art Complex Associate Artist Program
The Bakehouse Art Complex Associate Artist program is a selected artist program for local emerging and mid-career artists who are seeking exhibition and advancement opportunities and working facilities. Applications are due on the first of each month.
Bakehouse Art Complex Associate Artists receive:
Access to various working facilities during business hours: the Bakehouse is home to a print room, dark room, a woodworking studio, welding area, and ceramic kilns for artist use. In 2015, thanks to a generous Knight Arts Challenge grant, the Bakehouse will add a ceramics studio and South Florida's first community foundry for fine art metal-casting. These amenities provide artists with in-house facilities to develop their work or to experiment and integrate new media into their work. These facilities are also open and available to resident artists 24/7.
Exhibition and Educational Opportunities: The Bakehouse maintains a programming schedule comprised of more than 18 exhibitions per season as well as multiple fundraisers, offsite sales and exhibition opportunities, as well as educational programs and artist advancement workshops. Associate Artists are invited to submit work for consideration to any open exhibitions (typically 5-7 per season). Associate Artists are also encouraged to donate an artwork of their choosing for the Bakehouse’s annual art raffle fundraiser Lucky You!, which takes place every November.
